New Moon: Nigredo

With the beginning of the moon cycle we start the alchemical process of transmutation. We begin with Nigredo, the blackening.

This is the time of calling forward the shadow. It is a time of death, decomposition, descent, dissolution. The old organization breaks down. The dissonance arises. There is confrontation with the shadow, a loss of the familiar way of being. There is a collapse of the structures that are ready to die.

What dissonance is arising? What shadow is sparking to be worked with? What is ready to break down?

What is arising in your dreams in this period? When you look at the qualities of Light and Shadow for this cycle, where do you have a visceral reaction?

What are you judging in others during this period? What is annoying you, getting under your skin, inciting reactivity?

These are all clues for what is ready to be alchemized this cycle.
